Nestled at the foot of Table Mountain, this exclusively gay male guesthouse is the only one of its kind in central Cape Town and they go the extra mile to make guests feel welcome.
Guests can expect personal attention from owner Julian van Reenen, who happens to be an NLP trainer. During season, Julian holds a weekly barbecue and occasionally prepares dinner for all his guests.
Located in Oranjezicht the house faces De Waal Park where you can see locals – often gorgeous gay guys – taking their dogs for an afternoon stroll or jogging. A short five minutes’ walk gets you to some of Cape Town’s finest restaurants, cafés, coffee shops, local pubs, bars, historical museums, theatres, trendy stores and so much more. The beautiful Company Garden is a stone’s throw away with pathways leading right into the city centre.
This beautiful Victorian house has five stylish en-suite bedrooms with large oversized showers, king-sized beds in Deluxe and Superior rooms and queen size in the standard room. Deluxe rooms have direct access to the pool area.
What makes them so different?
They believe that extra personal attention is important and that is exactly what they provide. What better way to spend time in an establishment that has a unique personal ambiance meeting like-minded people whilst having great social interaction at their dinner parties and their braai’s where you will enjoy good food, exquisite wine and just great company. At Cactus House they have developed many special relationships and continuously seek to improve their service and strive for excellence.
