Big Dog was established as a showcase for Terbodore Coffee and was conceptualised along three pillars: food, design and coffee. Breakfast is served all day and naturally the coffee is top-notch.
The unfussy and sleekly contemporary space is light and airy with accents of wood and exposed brick. Breakfast dishes such as Middle Eastern spiced shakshuka consisting of tomato relish, creamy labneh, free-range eggs and flatbread; mushrooms on toast accompanied by spinach purée, poached eggs and miso hollandaise, are wonderfully filling. Light meals include salads, burgers, and savoury waffles.
Coffee, both hot and cold, is on the menu, as is tea and matcha. Alcohol is not served but there are divine cordials to quench your thirst. Stock up on freshly baked pastries and coffee from the next door roastery to take home.
