Taylor Swift’s new video You Need to Calm Down is a gay paradise and has her pegged as a huge sweetheart of Pride Month 2019!
With appearances from the Queer Eye Fab 5, RuPaul, Ellen, Hayley Kiyoko, Billy Porter, Dexter Mayfield, Laverne Cox, Adam Lambert, and Todrick Hall amongst others, TayTay’s new music video is littered with glitter, girlfriend!
The music video is literally a type of queer paradise heaven, and even the critics that feel she’s a “straight girl feeling the need to be the centre of the LGBT movement”, cannot not fall in love with this epic gay triumph. We love it and we love TayTay!
Pink News also reports: Swift released “You Need to Calm Down” on Donald Trump’s 73rd birthday, and at the very end of the video is a pink screen with the words: “Let’s show our pride by demanding that, on a national level, our laws truly treat all of our citizens equally. Please sign my petition for Senate support of the Equality Act on change.org.”
The petition created by the singer states: “Our country’s lack of protection for its own citizens ensures that LGBTQ people must live in fear that their lives could be turned upside down by an employer or landlord who is homophobic or transphobic.
“The fact that, legally, some people are completely at the mercy of the hatred and bigotry of others is disgusting and unacceptable.”
