Gardener, animal lover, business owner and a loyal Napier resident.
Born in Cape Town 1954, Ivan spent his school career years mainly in George where he matriculated at Outeniqua High. He spent army call-up time in the South African Medical Services and qualified as a paramedic working mainly in military hospitals and facilities. He studied at various institutions and qualified as an accountant, South African Business Excellence Model Assessor, European Quality Awards Assessor, and ISO9000 Quality Auditor, among others. Ivan worked as an accountant at Nedbank, accountant at General Motors SA and then became National Finance and Admin Manager (SA & Neighbouring Countries) for a large international company.
He started his own business thereafter in 1998 and moved back to Cape Town in 2007 and retired 2012 when his partner of 32 years sadly passed away. Ivan moved to the beautiful town of Napier in the Western Cape in 2013. He has been involved in a loving relationship for 5 years since 2016. Retired but very busy in the community, Ivan serves on various committees. He also has a business selling quality dog and cat food, as well as dried fruit, local raw honey, and other products.
He is a keen gardener and has a large, beautiful garden at Bali Hai, his 1943 home, that has been beautifully renovated. they have four loveable rescue Huskies, Oupa Jaidon (15), Lady Nova, Saartjie and Princess. The couple enjoy the beauty and clean air of Napier and the Overberg, and when the big city beckons, Cape Town is a pleasant two hours’ drive away.
