The rescued herd of elephants in our care are very unique indeed. In their acceptance of orphans not born to them. But all elephants can teach us about love and togetherness. It’s the elephant way. As herd animals, the social dynamics and well-being of all is vital. Maintaining harmony is essential and so each elephant plays a role in their family to keep their bonds strong, whether through playing, spending time together, protecting one another, looking after the young, mentoring and even disciplining.
