Prelena is a South African- born Indian, wildlife photographer whose fascination with Nature started at a very young age.

Born and raised in the heart of apartheid-era South Africa, her journey was marked by both the beauty of her surroundings and the harsh reality of an unjust society. In the midst of these contrasts her connection to the natural world became her refuge offering solace and inspiration. Through her lens she has shattered barriers and transcended boundaries, portraying a  world that is not just worth preserving but worth fighting for.

Armed with Masters degrees in environmental science and corporate strategy she has embarked on a mission to take Africa to Africans by volunteering she photographic skills to conservation organizations and by spending time with children from disadvantage backgrounds teaching them about the beauty of the natural world and the importance of conservation. By doing so, she hopes to empower the next generation of conservationists. She hopes her images are viewed as tools for change, inspiring others to take action for the preservation of the planet’s delicate balance.

Her images, each a testament to her unwavering commitment, has earned her numerous accolades in several prestigious photography competitions, with her work celebrated on international platforms.
