October is South Africa’s annual Pride Month, and the Democratic Alliance (DA) in Ekurhuleni would like to wish all members of our LGBTIQA+ community a happy Pride Month, 2024.
Recently Ekurhuleni celebrated its annual Pride March in Thembisa which reiterated the message that love is love. The DA in Ekurhuleni was honoured to have been part of this event.
It was fantastic to see the local community come out and support LGBTIQA+ rights on the day.
While the LGBTIQA+ community has come far in South Africa, it still faces many difficulties — particularly around acceptance and inclusion.
We celebrate Pride Month to remember our difficult, prejudiced, past while building an inclusive future.
Together, we can build a diverse, inclusive, and caring society that is accepting of all.
