The singer/actor launches a new album, tour & Netflix series alongside Manu Ríos.
Complete world domination is imminent for Spanish pop star Pablo Alborán.
Since his debut in 2011, he’s released 6 albums, sold over 4 million records, and scored more than 30 Grammy/Latin Grammy noms.
Now on the precipice of releasing his 7th studio album and a world tour, the 36-year-old is about to embark on a new trajectory. Pablo is set to make his acting debut on the second season of Netflix‘s medical drama Breathless later this month.
Coming out
Pablo’s career expansion arrives a little more than five years after he publicly came out of the closet.
“Today, I want my voice to be louder and for it to have more value and weight. I’m here to tell you that I am homosexual and it’s okay,” Alborán said in June 2020 Instagram post. “Life goes on, everything will remain the same, but I’m going to be a little happier than I already am.”
If he had any apprehension that living his truth would impede his career, it thankfully didn’t come to fruition. In fact, he’s only seen his star status rise.
“Look, I’ve been lucky and also unfortunate that the things I’ve done have turned out well, but it’s true that once you get something right, people want that thing all the time,” Pablo said in a new interview with GQ España. “And that’s normal.”
