The program for the 48th Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Festival has been launched, inviting you to step into ECSTATICA, where LGBTQIA+ celebration becomes a powerful force.
Sydney is once again set to electrify with pride from 13th February to 1st March for the 2026 Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras.
Step into ECSTATICA over 20 days as the city pulses with queer energy.
Today, the dynamic program of theatre, music, parties, talks, and community events has been announced, and we couldn’t be more excited.
“ECSTATICA is about euphoria as resistance,” said Jesse Matheson, CEO of Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras.
“The idea that our joy is powerful, political, and unstoppable.”
“This year’s Festival celebrates connection in all its forms.
“From streets to screens, from protest to party, and from one another to the world. It’s a celebration of who we are, what we’ve built, and the future we’re creating together.”
The 2026 Festival features over 80 events, opening with the Progress Pride Flag Raising at Sydney Town Hall on Friday, 13th February, signalling the start of two weeks of unstoppable queer joy.
And don’t forget on Saturday, 28th February, Oxford Street once again transforms into the beating heart of LGBTQIA+ pride and visibility with a march like no other.
“Every year, the Parade reminds us that visibility is joy in motion,” Matheson said.
