Madonna joins Grindr!

Madonna joins Grindr and instantly catches a cheating boyfriend.

By Carson Mlnarik

As we prepare for the Summer of Madonna ahead of the release of Confessions II, the Queen of Pop has set the scene on the dance floor: a place for unabashed queer joy, spiritual rebirth, and community connection.

…Unless you’re the gay man who recently took to Reddit to share how the rollout of Madonna’s new era led to absolute heartbreak.

Mother, what did you do this time?!?

On Sunday, a user named u/pinkmor asked for advice in the r/AskGayBros subreddit after discovering that his “boyfriend of 3 years has been cheating on me, and somehow Madonna was involved.” LOL.

“Things has already been off for a couple of weeks — nothing dramatic, just that slow, quiet erosion where you start to feel like a guest in your own relationship,” he recounted. “Less talking, less touching, more phone.”

But the incident in question occurred when the writer was cooking dinner, and his partner’s phone loudly went off with a rather flamboyant notification: “Hi, Grindr, it’s Motha.”

ICYMI: Madonna recently partnered with Grindr for an “exxxclusive” picture disc vinyl edition of her new album and an expansive UI takeover, including her own seemingly permanent spot on the grid.

The announcement arrived with a seductive voice memo from the queen herself – the “Hi, Grindr, it’s Motha” in question — and according to the Reddit poster, “everything just clicked in the most absurd way.”

“He got defensive immediately, which tells you everything,” he wrote. “I grabbed his phone. Grindr. Open. Messages. Recent. Not even hidden. Just existing alongside me.”

In the aftermath, u/pinkmor wrote that he didn’t “really remember what [he] said,” but felt “that feeling when something ends before you’ve caught up to it.”

“Now I’m sitting here with a dinner I don’t want, crying over a relationship that apparently had already been over — just not for me,” he explained. “Anyway. That’s how Madonna helped me find out my boyfriend was cheating on me.” Yikes!

Of course, the absurdity of the story itself (and its frequent use of em dashes) call into question its validity, as many users in the comments pointed out that it sounded AI-generated.

That said, it’s entirely feasible based on Madonna’s omnipresence on the grid, the audio that plays when you open her profile, and the fact that, well, gay men can be pigs.

Accordingly, other LGBTQ+ users weighed in with both messages of support and some friendly stan trolling. (The album is about confessions, after all!)

“This sounds like my worst nightmare,” one responder wrote, while another remarked, “The only thing worse than getting cheated on is getting cheated on and find out from Madonna.”

Nevertheless, the best response goes to u/noctisprincess, who wrote: “Alexa, play ‘Sorry’ by Madonna.” LOL. We’ve heard it all before.

OK, so there’s no real way of knowing whether or not that Reddit post actually happened.

But based on the unhinged spirit of Madonna’s Confessions II era thus far, we wouldn’t be surprised.

After all, the Queen of Pop can hardly give us a weekend to breath after taking over The Abbey in WeHo for a sweaty dance party on Saturday, and announcing her new single, “Bring Your Love” in an Instagram post this morning.

Just a few weeks ago, Madge previewed the effervescent collaboration in a surprise appearance during Sabrina Carpenter’s Coachella set. And then her clothes went missing.

So maybe it’s for the best this Reddit user found out when he did, because it seems a LOT more confessions are coming to light.
