Whether responding to emergencies, training firefighters or helping clients achieve their fitness goals, Warren Bronner has built his career around helping others perform at their best.
Now Battalion Chief and Head of Training at Fire Operations SA, Warren has spent more than 30 years in emergency services. Beginning as a junior firefighter in 1993, he progressed to Platoon Commander with the Greater Johannesburg Metropolitan Council before taking on remote-site paramedic roles in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Qatar.
Alongside his emergency services career, Warren has maintained a lifelong passion for health and fitness. Having previously built a successful personal training client base before the pandemic, he now coaches clients at Virgin Active Collection Club, Alice Lane, where he helps people build strength, improve fitness and develop confidence through practical, personalised training.
Drawing on decades of experience in one of the world’s most physically demanding professions, Warren believes that fitness should be purposeful, sustainable and accessible to everyone, regardless of age or starting point.
Away from work, Warren is a qualified skydiver and scuba diver, a member of both the Mountain Club of South Africa and the Parachute Association of South Africa, and enjoys quad biking, caving, abseiling and competing in triathlons. His passion for adventure reflects the same discipline, commitment and resilience that have shaped both his career and the way he approaches life.
