Born 1970, in Pinetown, Leon went to school at Kempton Park Höerskool. Straight after school he joined the military and become a Parabat where he loved the uniforms. He started his first job in the hospitality industry 29 years ago, and worked his way up the ladder from cleaner, to waiter, to barman, to chef, then manager and finally general manager.

Leon did franchising for House of Coffees and worked all over South Africa opening shops, including among others, Sun City, Hillcrest and Colonnades.

Then he decided to take it up a notch. Leon then completed a stint at the beautiful Blues, in Camps bay, followed by all the branches of Pigalle restaurants. Finally, he ended up at Sandton Pigalle where he spent 7 years. This is where his passion for fine dining developed. Pigalle prides itself on excellent food, great vibe and attentive service. He finished his restaurant career at Parc Ferme restaurant at the Michael Angelo Towers.

This is where BarDeli Catering & Consulting was born. Leon realised the need for a catering business that can take all the pressure off the host and offer an all in one service. Specialising in seafood, canapés and, being Afrikaans, of course anything to do with a braai, including spit braai and potjies.

The mobile bar is always at the heart of the party. With a selection of drinks – from beautifully garnished cocktails, a huge selection of wine and champagne, to gin bars and anything else his clients might desire.

To make your event even more fabulous, they offer topless barmen. His staff are very presentable and extremely loveable, yet very professional. They run a full-service operation, offering staffing, food, bar and drinks, flowers, furniture hire and décor.
