For over ten years, Jono Dry has been mastering the art of graphite, working on large scale, hyper realistic pencil drawings with surrealistic
subject matter.
Dry is a self-taught artist living and working in Cape Town. He grew up in the seaside town of Hermanus, where he first started making art alongside his mother, artist Erna Dry.
Drawing inspiration from artists like MC Escher, Judith Mason, Salvador Dali, Rene Margritte, Jeremy Geddes, Kit King and Miles Johnston, his work mixes dream-like and fantastic subject matter with meticulous hyper realistic technique.
