Munnik’s motto in life is: ‘It does not matter what you study in life if you don’t follow your dream, you will never be happy and make a success. You have one life. Live your life to the fullest and dream big. Don’t scratch with the turkeys if you can fly with the eagles.’
Munnik started his working career at Arthur Kaplan Jewelers as project manager, opening new shops, training staff, and getting the shop up and running.
After the death of Arthur Kaplan he took up a job as manager at Ster-Kinekor theaters as new business developer and opened almost all the Ster-Kinekor theatres you know today. He worked in this industry for 16 years doing all the new movie launches and movie premiers. Met film stars and almost every celebrity we had in South Africa. The last 5 years he was General Manager for Ster-Kinekor.
From Ster-Kinekor, Munnik joined The Cancer Association of South Africa for 16 years in various positions, as head of Volunteer development, Head of Sustainability, Head of new Business development. He was incremental in many of the now well know events at CANSA such as Relay For Life.
Now he is the CEO of SAACA – The Southern Africa Animal Cancer Association and LOVES every moment of his day. ‘Working with animals and living with my dogs and on a farm is my passion. I am more productive now than ever before in my life and the simple reason is “I am living my dream“.’
From mega networker to event planner and brand builder Munnik has become a name in the industry to help people get events off the ground and make a profit.
Over and above his day-to-day job he is involved with Rotary International Pretoria East, Member of Business Network International and SKAL international. He is involved with Marnuk estate the, weaving studio and does the marketing for MARNUK Estate and Marthinus Fashions with his life partner.
His hobbies are art, reading, food and drinking the best wine.
